We went into the city to do the Mardi Gras Mambo because well it’s a high holiday I can make an exception for my strict avoidance of germs. However my limit for being shoulder to shoulder with drunk people fighting over silly plastic beads made in China hits its max after about 4.5 hours. It’s just dirty and there’s no where to sit and I’m all about people watching but just put outlandish on repeat and then you’ve seen it all. Anyway. We had a good time, in and out before I hit my limit and turned into a miserable old lady. Sorry I just really like my sofa and slippers. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, cold but gorgeous!

I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say this, shout out to the City of New Orleans. I have never seen Burbon Street so clean. I was pleasently surprised that the Burbon Street slush was only in pot holes not 2 inches deep everywhere you looked. I will recommend putting some trash cans on the streets to encourage people using that instead of dropping stuff because at one point I had to walk literally 2 blocks to find a trashcan. But overall, I was very impressed by how clean it was in comparison to past years, the added safety lighting, and the presence of officers.
